Distribution is the life blood of digital signage, just like its relations in the IT industry; without distributors they would be dead in the water. It works something like this.

A manufacturer sells a product through a distributor, who then sells the same product to it’s reseller or Value Added Reseller (VAR) base. The VAR’s then sell the complete solution to the end user which is most likely to be a restaurant or hotel.

The Channel.

This is how the distribution network is set up from the manufacturer, distributor, reseller all the way to the end user. You will find that the distributor does the majority of the marketing so that they can push the sales through the channel as well as offering sales training to ensure the Value Added Resellers are on top of their game.

The Value Added Resellers.

Working under the distributors are hundreds if not thousands of resellers, these are the people who sell the digital signage solution to the end user. They know their customer and understand their customer’s requirements as they will have planned and designed the complete solution end to end.

The Solution.

When a reseller discussed a project with an end user and walks them through the options and a project is outlined, the reseller then communicates with the distributor to ensure that the project is achievable and what exactly is needed to achieve the end result, this results in a win - win situation for everyone and the distribution channel is one seamless system.

Once a solution is proposed and agreed normally a trial is required due to the large investment on a major deployment project, now the reseller wears another hat, that of Project Manager, to ensure the project works and come sin on budget and on time. This in turn gives the end user confidence in the knowledge that the reseller is working for the ultimate in results a major deployment.

Dave has many years experience manufacturing a range of LCD enclosure that are used in both commercial and domestic applications. He has also developed a unique outdoor TV cabinets that are manufactured at his plant. These are then shipped throughout the world to digital signage integrators.
